The Challenge

Interested homeowners with nowhere to go next

Mitsubishi Electric had a growing awareness problem. More people than ever were hearing about heat pumps. Government grants, media coverage, and rising energy bills were all pushing homeowners to explore alternatives to gas and oil boilers. But when someone decided they were interested, the next step was unclear.

Which heat pump is right for my house? How much will it cost to run? Will it actually save me money? And who do I call to get one installed? These are the questions every potential buyer asks. Without clear, personalised answers, most people stall.

Mitsubishi Electric needed a tool that would catch homeowners at the moment of interest and guide them all the way to a qualified installer. Not a brochure. Not a generic FAQ. A personalised experience that gives real answers for real homes.

What We Built

A guided journey from curiosity to installer

We designed and built Find My Ecodan as a web-based application, accessible on any device with a browser. No app download required. No account needed. A homeowner can go from first click to personalised heat pump recommendation in minutes.

The tool walks users through a structured assessment of their property, then generates a personalised report with the right Ecodan product, estimated running costs, potential savings versus their current system, and carbon emissions comparisons.

At the end, users are connected directly with accredited installers from Mitsubishi Electric's Partner Programme. Installers receive the lead via email and manage referrals through a dedicated portal we also built. It is both a consumer tool and a lead generation platform, working together seamlessly.

We also built a separate kiosk variant for use at trade shows and Mitsubishi Electric showrooms. Same core experience, optimised for touchscreen displays and walk-up visitors.

Under the Hood

Smart calculations, simple experience

The tool looks simple on the surface. That is the point. But behind the clean interface sits a set of complex calculations: heat loss estimations based on property details, product matching logic across the full Ecodan range, running cost projections, savings comparisons against gas and oil systems, and carbon emissions modelling.

All of this is wrapped in a guided, step-by-step journey that a non-technical homeowner can complete without help. We focused heavily on the UX to make sure people do not drop off halfway through. Every question earns its place. Every screen moves the user closer to a clear, useful answer.

The tool generates personalised PDF reports that stitch together the right content based on each user's inputs. We host the entire application on kwiboo infrastructure, including the installer referral portal, giving Mitsubishi Electric a managed, reliable platform without the overhead of maintaining it internally.

The Bigger Picture

The conversion layer in a growing digital ecosystem

Find My Ecodan does not exist in isolation. It is one piece of a digital ecosystem we have been building with Mitsubishi Electric over several years. The See My Ecodan AR app lets homeowners visualise a heat pump in their garden and includes a direct link to Find My Ecodan as the next step. Once someone buys and installs a system, MELCloud handles ongoing monitoring and control.
